Logitech Cooling Pad N100 and Notebook Riser N110

SINGAPORE — April 7, 2009 — Logitech today introduced theirCooling Pad N100 (above pic left) and the Notebook Riser N110, which extend the company’s line of notebook essentials that help make the laptop experience more comfortable around the home.

Logitech Cooling Pad N100 – Improves Airflow Around Your Notebook
Whether you’re using your laptop on the couch or bed or at a desk with your favorite external keyboard and mouse, the Logitech Cooling Pad N100 improves airflow around your notebook. To help protect you from heat the Cooling Pad N100 features a slotted surface, which allows the USB-powered fan to distribute air quietly and evenly.

To create a steady, unobstructed airflow, the Cooling Pad N100 uses rear air intake, unlike other cooling pads, which generate airflow from angles that are easily blocked by the laptop itself or loose articles of clothing. Plus, the enclosed, durable construction protects the internal fan from dust and damage.

Designed for efficiency, the Cooling Pad N100 includes a low power-consumption USB cable that connects to your computer with minimal impact on your notebook’s battery – while still delivering enough power to improve airflow around the laptop.

Logitech Notebook Riser N110 – Elevates Your Notebook to Improve Your Comfort
To help increase comfort when you’re working at your desk, or any other table around the home, the Logitech Notebook Riser N110 features an ergonomically-designed riser that elevates your notebook display to an optimal viewing position.

You can use the Notebook Riser N110 with your favorite external keyboard and mouse – such as the Logitech® V550 Nano and the Logitech® diNovo Keyboard for Notebooks – and arrange each peripheral individually to enhance your typing posture. The Notebook Riser N110 also features an adjustable tilt – with 20-, 30- and 40-degree angles – and a rubber-soled swivel base, so you can choose the position that feels best to you. For your convenience, the Notebook Riser N110 flips open and folds flat for easy setup, transport and storage.

Logitech, however, offers more than just a comfortable notebook experience. Both the Cooling Pad N100 and the Notebook Riser N110 feature colors and a shape that fit seamlessly into your life. With light gray surfaces, Tuscan green accents and rounded edges, the Cooling Pad N100 and the Notebook Riser N110 will look good in any room you use them.

Pricing and Availability
Both the Logitech Cooling Pad N100 and Logitech® Notebook Riser N110 are expected to be available in April at SGD39 each.

Logitech announces Z906 5.1-channel speakers

If youve been on the hunt for a complete 5.1-channel speaker set that doesnt take up too much space or cost a small fortune, then you generally have a choice of Creative Labs or Logitech and the latter company has announced its latest addition in the shape of the Z906 speakers. This time around Logitech has focused the set to fit better in the living room rather than being a solution for PC audio, despite the old Z-5500s finding their way into many living rooms.

The design is completely revamped and were looking at a much more AV friendly control unit this time around, as its horizontal rather than vertical as was the case with the Z-5500s. Gone is the fancy LCD display, but in its place Logitech has added a range of easy to read orange LEDs which clearly indicates whats going on. You still get a remote control, but even that has been simplified and only features a power button, an input selector, a mute button and a four way navigation pad that also doubles up as volume controls and level and effect controls.

The inputs have also changed and rather than the control unit having the inputs, theyre now located at the rear of the subwoofer. The Z-5500s featured three analogue inputs as well as an optical and a coaxial S/PDIF input and although the Z906s keeps the three analogue inputs and the coaxial S/PIDF, it scores a second optical S/PDIF input and two RCA connectors for stereo audio input. Logitech has also moved away from using RCA plugs for connecting the speakers to the subwoofer and has instead gone for traditional spring loaded clips and the same goes on the speakers. The good thing here is that if youre not satisfied with the supplied speaker cables, you can change them to whatever you want.

The Z906 speakers are rated at the same 500W RMS power as the Z-5500s, but the subwoofer has been down rated from 187W to 165W while all of the satellite speakers are rated at 67W whereas the Z-5500 satellites were rated at 61W with the exception of the centre speaker which was rated at 69W. All of the satellite speakers are wall mountable, although it does appear as if Logitech supplies the actual mounts in the box. The speakers are of course THX certified and the decoder handles Dolby Digital and DTS encoded audio and theres also support for up mixing stereo sound to surround sound.

The US MSRP of the Z906s is set at $399.99 which is about S$507, but wed expect the set to cost closer to S$600 when it arrives in Singapore. Logitech expects to be shipping the speakers this month in the US, although its unclear as to when theyll be available in other parts of the world.

Logitech Announces Three New Gamepads For PC, Bundles Surprise Bonuses For MapleStory

Gamepads may be the device of choice for console gamers, but even PC gamers have to admit that there are times where a gamepad will be superior to the traditional keyboard-and-mouse combination that has become defining trate of PC gaming. In addition, there is also a certain aspect of gamepads in the sense that they have the unique ability to grant users a certain “console-gaming” experience, even when connected to the PC.

And if you happen to be the kind of gamer who has lots of arcade-to-PC ports of titles, or are just looking to recreate the console-gaming experience on the PC, you are in luck. This is because Logitech has just announced three new gamepads for gamers to pamper themselves with during the festive season, where gaming is definitely going to take place, especially if one is organizing home parties.<p.featuring

The gamepads incorporate XInput and DirectInput technology, so they’ll work with both legacy titles as well as today’s biggest games. And, for your games that do not support gamepads, the Gamepad F310, Rumble Gamepad F510 and Wireless Gamepad F710 come with profiler software you can install on your computer to configure the gamepad to emulate a keyboard or mouse.

The Gamepad F310 includes all of the capabilities outlined above along with a 6-foot cord so you can play a comfortable distance away from your PC monitor.

The Rumble Gamepad F510 offers the features of the Gamepad F310, with the addition of dual vibration motors, so when you’re playing games that support vibration feedback, you’ll feel every hit, crash and explosion.

The Wireless Gamepad F710 incorporates all of the capabilities of the Rumble Gamepad F510 and adds the freedom of 2.4 GHz wireless connectivity. Just insert Logitech’s plug-and-forget Nano receiver into a USB port on your computer and leave it there for fast data transmission with virtually no delays, dropouts or interference.

And as a bonus, Logitech claims that these gamepads will feature certain digital codes which can be used to redeem certain rare items in the popular MMORPG, MapleStory. Examples of such items include the popular 2X EXP and 2X Mesos coupons, as well as a special Gamepad chair in which a user’s in-game avatar will rest on a giant gamepad to recover HP and MP at fixed intervals.

Unfortunately, it appears that these digital codes are only usable for the MapleGlobal client, so MapleSEA players in Singapore are out of luck on this one.

Pricing and Availability

The Logitech Gamepad F310, Rumble Gamepad F510 and Wireless Gamepad F710 available for sale now at S$32, S$49 and S$65 respectively.
